FROM SOIL TO BOTTLE WITH THE WINEMAKER
INTRODUCTION TO THE SERIES
What is it about?
“Before the wine – From Soil to Bottle with winemaker Stefano Legnani” is the newly born series that boasts the special participation of Stefano Legnani. “Bolognese by birth, Venetian by adoption and Ligurian for love, (re) born in Bradia, Sarzana thanks to his wife Monica and a hectare of vineyard near their house”. Stefano produces about twelve thousand bottles every year, requested by Japan, the USA, Switzerland, Poland, Belgium, France, Australia, and Italy, even before bottling. He has his own way of conceiving his job in the vineyard. Stefano does not like to define himself as “one who makes wine” but “one who wants to guide it to become what the wine itself wishes to be”. In this series, he will be a winemaker chaperon, a guide and travel companion through the seasons in the vineyard; through everything that there is to know, before the wine.
How the project “From soil to bottle with winemaker Stefano Legnani” was born
“Before the Wine – From soil to Bottle with Stefano Legnani” comes from a desire to narrate about wine, starting from the beginning: from the soil. A journey through the eyes of those who work and care for the vineyard. A journey that ultimately bring the grapes up to the bottle. We will tell you a sequence of seasonal events and the work they require, just like a room overlooking the vineyard. Such a privileged position from which to enjoy Stefano’s interpretation of the vine and wine profession.
What it isn’t
It is not and does not claim to be a guide, a manual of the winemaker or a definitive thought on it, nor it wish to develop a method better than others.
